- ¾ cup of Cristal de Caña sugar
- 12 ripe cashew fruits (cashew apples)
- 1 gallon of water
- 6 cloves
- 3 small pieces of cinnamon
Preparation
- Peel the cashew apples.
- Cover them with water (more than 2 inches) and bring them to a boil.
- Remove the cashew apples from the heat, let them cool, and discard the water. You should repeat this process about three times.
- Mix the cashews with the sugar, cinnamon, and cloves.
- Heat over low heat for 30 minutes until the liquid turns syrupy.
- Remove from the heat and remove the cloves and cinnamon.
- Cool before serving.
