  • ¾ cup of Cristal de Caña sugar
  • 12 ripe cashew fruits (cashew apples)
  • 1 gallon of water
  • 6 cloves
  • 3 small pieces of cinnamon
Preparation
  1. Peel the cashew apples.
  2. Cover them with water (more than 2 inches) and bring them to a boil.
  3. Remove the cashew apples from the heat, let them cool, and discard the water. You should repeat this process about three times.
  4. Mix the cashews with the sugar, cinnamon, and cloves.
  5. Heat over low heat for 30 minutes until the liquid turns syrupy.
  6. Remove from the heat and remove the cloves and cinnamon.
  7. Cool before serving.
